I-95 / Route 630 Reconstruction and Widening

To add capacity and improve traffic flow and safety at the I-95/Route 630 interchange, VDOT converted the existing interchange to a diverging diamond interchange with two parallel bridges carrying Route 630 over I-95. A 2-mile segment of Route 630 was widened from two to four lanes. The project also involved the reconstruction of the Route 630/Route 1 intersection and the construction of two commuter park-and-ride lots to accommodate 1,100 vehicles as well as public transit.

Construction at Risk:
CES furnished and installed 445 interstate and roadway directional signs including 9 overhead sign structures, and more than 87 high-mast interstate and pedestrian scale streetlighting for Route 630, the diverging diamond interchange, and the commuter parking lots.
