CES is a member of the consultant team providing construction management and inspection services for the largest design-build project in Maryland’s history. This $463M mega-project replaced the existing bridge over the Potomac River with a 2-mile, 59-span bridge with concrete beams, steel girders, and concrete pier columns founded on cylindrical concrete piles. The project also involves installing an electronic tolling system. Rising 135 feet above the river to accommodate tall ships, the bridge was designed to meet a 100-year life span with maintenance needs.
